DAD ATTEND BAND CONCERT PRESENTED BY FRESHMEN .. -..f N ,, lf -,...-..,,- Lasf fall 950 freshmen descended upon New Trier-a group larger by I46 fhan lasf year's Freshman Class. This year a major change was made in fhe accommodafion of fhe new sfudenfs, all freshmen being puf in sfudy halls for freshmen only. These were supervised by upperclassmen fo acquainf freshmen wifh fhe self-con- frol necessary in regular sfudenf- supervised sfudy halls. Second semes- fer all freshmen nof recommended for faculfy supervision were placed in upperclass sfudenf-supervised sfudy halls. On Ocfober 25, parenfs of New Trier freshmen affended Go-fo- School Nighf wifh fheir sons and daughfers fo discover fhe rigors- physical as well as menfal-fo which fheir hardy children were subiecfed each day. Lafer in fhe fall, class officers were elecfed. Along wifh fhe sfeering commiffee and fhe adviser chairmen, Miss Blanche Veach and lvlr. Roberf Ream, fhe officers planned several no-dafe freshman dances and pro- mofed ofher class acfivifies. Freshmen were acfive in many fields. They gave sparlcling perform- ances in fhe frosh-soph play, Mrs. lVIcThing, and several freshmen par- ficipafed in Lagniappe. Ofhers were falenfed enough fo play in band or orchesfra. If fhe class of I96-O proves as sfrong as if is large, if should pro- vide some of fhe besf leadership New Trier has ever had.
