IT wasn'T long beTore They had adapTed Themselves To The crowded halls and large classes, and liTerally made Their presence TelT. How- ever, They wanTed much more Than iusT a repuTaTion Tor size: so They organized a Treshman aTTairs commiTTee, The TirsT such commiTTee To be in any Treshman class. The purposes oT The commiTTee were To encourage class uniTy, To organ- ize The nominaTion oT candidaTes Tor class oTTices, and To conducT elecTions. The Tour elecTed oTTicers Then worked wiTh The commiTTee and The adviser chairmen, Miss Blanche Veach and Mr. RoberT Ream, in The promoTion and planning of all class acTiviTies. WiTh considerable pride, Treshmen were able To inTroduce Their parenTs To New Trier on Go-To-school NighT, Oc- Tober 27. Many parenTs acquired a beT- Ter undersTanding oT school liTe simply by aTTempTing To Tollow The physically arduous schedule oT Their nimbler and spryer oTTspring. A source oT greaT saTisTacTion To The Freshman Class was The success oT The Treshman TooTball Team. Winning all games excepT The lasT one oT The sea- son, which wenT To EvansTon, The Team emerged aT The Top in Suburban League sTanding. Freshman girls disTinguished Them- selves by Taking Top honors in The Girls' Club annual magazine drive. On The boys' side, many made Tri-Ship by earning poinfs fhrough parficipafion in afhlefics and ofher exfra-curricular acfivifies. Tri-Ship sponsored fhree freshman no- dafe dances which helped fo infroduce more sfudenfs fo each ofher in an in- formal manner. The Tri-Ship dance commiffee provided fhe enferfainmenf and decorafed fhe lunch hall for fhe firsf dance, whereas fhe enferfainmenf af fhe laffer dances was composed en- firely of freshmen falenf. The enfhusiasm exhibifed by fhe fresh- men has been indicafive of a successful fufure for fhis large class af New Trier.
