A wide program of activities was carried out during the year, including the ever-popular Tri- Ship dances, the Athletic Dinner held in the fall, the Father and Son Banquet which came early in the spring, and perhaps the most outstanding feature, 6'Lagniappe,', the student 'talent show. Student supervised study halls were rearranged and expanded to in- clude more students than ever before. War stamps and bonds were sold throughout the year with considerable success which enabled us to earn and keep flying the Minute Man Flag of the governmentis uSchools at War program. A remarkably successful drive to sell war bonds in the community resulted in a sale of 3440A-95.50 which was the largest amount sold by any school in the state at that time. During the year a new department was created to organize and handle the clearing of the dining hall which had to be done by the students them- selves because of the labor shortage. While the results have not been perfect, this project represents a great advance in student organization and responsibility. Other services rendered included helping put on the Hallowe'en party, the gym-jams, a number of assemblies, a Riders, Club to facilitate boys getting rides to school, and a forum on citizenship. Altogether, consid- erable progress has been made in giving New Trier students an opportunity to develop good citizenship. DEFENSE AUDITORS Row 1: Brown, Moeller, Warfield, Saunders, Bachmann.
