Several student Forums were held in order to understand the various students' views on the intangible problems. On such problems as these success cannot be measured in one year but must be regarded over a period of years. Much credit for this year's success should be given to Mr. Wehr, Miss Hadden, and Mr. Van Deursen, faculty sponsors. 25 JUNIOR-SENIOR DEFENSE REPRESENTATIVES Row 1: Sherwin, Armstrong, Mesa, Eisenberg, Billings, Hamilton, Koch. The council has accomplished much this year. To start out the year the Activities Ticket drive was put on which proved extremely successful. Later came the organization of honor study halls, Freshman Club Day, Halloween Night, and the organization of the club program for the year. The War Department did a wonderful job selling War Stamps and Bonds and under the same department came the airplane identification classes, the key campaign, kits for Fort Sheridan, and the Gym Carnival. Two outstanding events during the spring months were the Gym-Jam and the Hobby Show. Through the following years the club has ably fulfilled these aims. The ollicers and board of the year 1942- 1943 feel proud that they have had the opportunity to carry on the spirit and traditions of Girls, Club. The KIX MILLER CODY . . Emily CCSSOFS. Each year scholarships are given to deserving girls who would not otherwise be able to attend college. One of the most important ways of earning money for this Scholarship Fund is through the Magazine Drive. The magazine committee with the vice-president acting as chairman, brought this drive to a successful conclusion. The Financial Committee headed by Barbara Barnett established new records in the sale of hot-dogs at the football games. An all-time high of 3,000 hot-dogs was sold at the memorable Evanston game. More than 150 girls were given jobs this year through the Employment Committee. Florence Billings was the chairman. The current employment situation made the work of this committee important. The girls on the Friendly and Social Committees efliciently han- dled that aspect of Girls' Club. With Maribel Sears and Marian Peter- son as chairmen, the annual Friendly Banquet and Father-Daughter Dinner were given. A Freshman-Senior party, and a supper for new girls were held at the beginning of the year. Girls' Club in cooperation with Tri-Ship participated in the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Red mramm
