Class of 1934 C Now ThaT we are graduaTing, There is a Teeling oT regreT and sorrow ThaT our high school liTe wiTh all iTs ioys and Troubles is abouT To end. Though Treshmen, we Too mourned The passing oT Mr. Cleric, a leader, and a man we had iusT begun To lcnow. ln The diTTiculT period which Tollowed, we cooperaTed wi+h Mr. Brown who so admirably Tilled The posiTion oT acTing principal. As sopho- mores, we welcomed Mr. GaTTney. ln +ha+ year we Taced a grim crisis which nearly ended in disasTer. UniTed wiTh all The classes, members OT The TaculTy and Board, we did our share in The successTul eTTorT To lceep The school Trom closing. This Tax WarranT Drive was a demonsTraTion oT our inTeresT in and loyalTy To New Trier. As seniors, we are proud To have been insTrumenTal in bringing back Two acTivi- Ties which were sorely missed and which have always given greaT crediT To The PresTon Holloway Olson Shields school: The New Trier News and The STU- denT Council. Reviewing our aThleTic acTiviTies, we will long recall such evenTs as our I932 Evans- Ton-New Trier TooTball classic and The num- erous occasions when our Traclc men and swimmers have brolcen The sTanding rec- ords leaving new ones which our successors will have cliTFiculTy in surpassing. ln The Tield oT dramaTics, we can poinT wiTh pride To The memorable producTion oT This year, lT l Were King, said To be one oT The TinesT plays ever given here. No hisTory oT our class, however brieT, would be compleTe wiThouT some word oT appreciaTion To our advisors, men and women whose Triendship and guidance has meanT so much To us. We have enjoyed The small and inTimaTe world oT our high school and we hope ThaT we may conTinue To Tind The same good Tellowship and Tine sporTsmanship among The leaders and associaTes oT The sphere we are enTerir1g as we have Tound among Those we are leaving.
