The club was organ- ized fhirfeen years ago for fhe double purpose of promofing friendship and good will among fhe girls of New Trier, and providing financial aid fo needy sfudenfs. We of I934 feel fhaf we have achieved fhese worfhy aims in a manner fhaf keeps our record equal fo fhe fine ones of our predecessors. We have sponsored a number of delighfful social evenfs, had a fine year financially, and have accom- plished worfh while fhings wifh our money. The following is a brief record of various acfivifies of fhe club fhrough fhe com- miffees in fhe pasf year. We made our money fhis year in much fhe same success- ful manner as in pasf years. On fhe firsf day of school we sold candy and pop for 23 I l fhe sfudenfs, and prepared a plafe lunch- eon for members of fhe faculfy. l-lof dogs, pop, and faffy apples were on sale af fhe foofball games, and some of fhe gi-rls 'carried baskefs of candy around, averaging abouf fhree dollars profif a nighf, af fhe plays and fhe opera. All fhese enferprises were mosf successful. A bake sale given by fhe freshmen girls under fhe efficienf direcforship of fhe financial chairman, Beffy l-lerrick, neffed fhe club abouf sixfy dollars for ifs scholar- ship fund. Anofher imporfanf money- making plan which fhe girls have evolved for adding fo our scholarship fund fhis' year is a combinafion bridge parfy and fashion show. which is scheduled for a lafer dafe, somefime in lvlay.
