Class History The Senior Class of 1952 was organized in September of 1948, under the direction of Mr. Charles Guisinger. There were twenty-seven members, fourteen of whom were in the vocal music group, eight in the band and nine who played on the reserve basketball team. Our class officers were: President, Rita Forsythe, Vice-President, Don Lett, Secretary, Evelyn Good, Treasurer, Nancy Forester. This year we were represented in the operetta, Wild Rose. Our class dues were twenty-five cents every six weeks. Also, to get more money in our treasury, we sold refreshments at all the basketball games, which was quite successful In 1949, we became Sophomores, our class officers being, President, Ruthie Burgess, Vice-President, Don Lett, Secretary, Evelyn Good, Treasurer, Nancy Forester. Mr. Nathan Davis was our class adivsor. We still had twenty-seven members ten in the vocal music group, seven in the band, and seven playing basketball. Our class dues were twenty-five cents every six weeks. We were determined to increase our bank balance this year, so we sold scarlet and gray tape, had bake sales, sold refreshments at the ball games, and had a dance. Also we were represented in the Perry County Music Festival. We became Juniors in 1950, with Mr. Nathan Davis as our class advisor. Our class officers were, President, Johnny Beattie, Vice-President, Bill Spicer, Secretary, Jim Grandy, Treasurer, Buddy Wallace. The enrollment of our class had decreased to twenty three, seven in the vocal group, four in the band, and five playing basketball. This year, our class was honored in sending the high school representative, Ruthie Burgess, to Girls State, at Columbus, Ohio. Our class dues were changed to fifty cents each semester. We sold refreshments at some of the ball games, We gave our Junior Class Play, The Antics of Andrew which was directed by Miss Marjorie Carr, and we had our Junior Carnival. On May 4, we gave a reception for the Seniors. Also, we were again repre- sented in the Perry County'Music Festival. During this year also, we sent Juniors, Rita Forsythe and Ruthie Burgess to represent our school in the District Tests at Athens. Rita took the test in English XI, and Ruthie in American History. Ruthie placed eighth in the district and received Honorable Mention from the state. Now in 1951-1952, we are Seniors. Our class officers are: President, Ruthie Burgess, Vice-President, Johnny Beattie, Secretary, Nancy Forester, Treasurer, Bill Spicer. Our class advisor is Miss Edna L.. Price. We have twenty-one members, two having enrolled from Newark High School and from Michigan, and one coming to us from Logan High School. There are six members of our class in the vocal music group, five in the band, and six on the basketball team. Every- year our class has been represented on the honor roll. The class dues are twenty-five cents every six weeks period. We . sold refreshments at our share of the ball games and had candy sales. We have been trying to build our bank account so that we may be able to take a Senior trip. Where we are going, we have not decided, but we intend to make our last get together an event to be remembered. -Rita Forsythe -
