GIRLS ' CL B The Girls' Club, sponsored by Mrs. Buchalter, met every Tuesday in the Gym, An lntra-mural basketball tournament was conducted during the first semester. Four different teams played six games to deter- mine the Championship, Winners were on the team captained by Joan Nesta. Other Captains were Lois Woodman,Miriam Fis- her, and Phyllis Gallentine. Tryouts for Cheerleaders were held and Carolyn Bisping, Judy Thomas, Nancy Ames, Shirley Sullenberger, Eleanor Noon, and Beverly Draskovich were chosen. The girls performed well at all home games. During the second semester, the girls enjoyed dancing, Gymnastics, hiking and Phyllis Judy shiriey Carolyn activities to pay for the new sweaters. ART CL B The Art Club, sponsored by Mr. Tom- kon, met regularly in room 4 on Tuesdays during Activity Periods. The purpose was to give interested stu- dents additional Art training and to learn items that could not be covered in the once a week Art Class. Cover designs were made for the Stan- ton Press, and such other projects as making Christmas Cards, observing Art films, linoleum cutting, stencil making, and field trips to Art Collections were enjoyed.
