During the first winter Louise Robertson and Lloyd Wolfe joined our troupe, QQEEEQ, li but at about the same time Mildred Deweese left us. - , ' The second year we gained Edsel Richards and Creston Eckert. he experienced EEQE QE 5 numerous difficulties because of our perfcrmances in Latin and Geometry. Qgghmtisgt The following year we lost five troupers--John Reed Sam Reed, 'eldon Davis, Eiigggwgg John Rosbottom and melvin Barksdale.We partly filled these vacancies in our cast Qiiiigflii by the addition of Verne Seacat and Jean Yenawine. John Askren retired during ETH' Dew that season. if A series of successful performances were climwxed that year by our Junior- if Senior Reception. The costumes for this performance were peasant style. All if scenery, props, and special dialogue were provided ry the Junior cast. V ' then we organized our Senior troupe we elected the following officers: President, Juanita Wagnerg Vice President, Louise Robertson, Secretary, Betty Harrison, Treasurer, Wayne keplyg Monitor, Lloyd holfe Wayne Byrn left us to enter the army and Guy Brock joined the navy. Charles ES halls deserted us for the Paoli troupe Wilbur Pigler retired from the profession QE and Marjorie Conrad left us to become a housewife. ' Le have at various times aided in the production of operettas. Three of our Ei members had principal parts in HBits of Blarneyn this year. fi Several of our boys have ably assisted in major basket ball productions in- in cluding county and sectional tournaments. ' AGL - - my ,L 'YU . v- fn, cl.Ass Pnorl-lssv I was unconsciously watching the cat play with a ball of yarn as I sat by the warm, cozy, hearth, trying vainly to prophecy the future of the Senivr Class of 1946. I suppose I became dreamy from the warmth cf the fire and sound of the wind for suddenly I was in a most peculiar world. Although I was walking very fast, I seemed to be getting no where. There was a bright light shining through the fog ahead of me. As I walked the fog cleared and the light became brighter and suddenly there I was--in a beautiful green meadow with a huge, white stone castle standing on the hill before .e. I walked up to the post which surrounded the castle, the draw bridge was lowered for ne, I crossed, and after wandering about the castle I Suddenlj found m self in the presence cf a strange king. I knelt on the scarlet, velvet carpet beftre the king and inplrrcd him to reveal to m6 what the future held for mg classhctes, the Senior Class of New Salisbury High School. The king assured me that he would do his best and bade me board his rocket ship and return to Earth where we would visit each memter of the class as they would appear in the future. First, we stopped at Hollywood, California. There we saw Louise Robertson styling Margaret O'Brien's hair. From Hollywrod we came East to Fort worth, Texas. In Fort Worth wr saw Creston Lckart. Creston had started his career as a cowboy, but wat now the owner cf the Ear EL Dude Ranch. He seemed quite content, surrounded by rich city folk who were :pending their vacations, Vout West.W he left Fort ttrtn anc flew over southern lndiana where below ue laj a long, straight, w.ite ribbon--highway IES, which h d been built under the sup- ervision of hillard saith, an engineer. he stopped in Corydon, Indiana, for lunch and learned that Auby Fyerly was happily married and that she and her family were living six tiles east of Corydon in a beautiful little hose they had purchased from WDccW Rodgers. 4 As we left Corydon we went south over the blue gross region of hentucky. TUSTG below us lay the most beautiful and picturesoue racing stakle in all cf hentuck3, owned by Juanita hfgner, whose horse NPat:y G. IIN had won the nen- tucky Derby in May, 1256. we stopped to visit Juanita, and indulged in a few Lint Juleps, while she ttld us that Lltyd holfe was now transporting sealskins in a semi-trailer truck, over the Alcan highway fron hehe, Alaska, to Seattle, nashirgton. we bade Juanita good-bye and flew on tc kich ond, virginia. while in hicunond we visited wayne hepleg, who was now a lawyer. we sat in warne's luxurious office and listened intently as he tclc us, with a southern accent of his important cases. wayne was called to court, so we continued cur journey up the coast to New york where betty Harrison was the star of the Broadway nusical hit, nCarouselN. She was enjoying entertaining New !ork's millionaire playbcys. Betty asked us to stay and ses the baseball game between the New York Yankees BDO the Saint Louis Cardinals as our old classmate, Verne Eeacat, was the ace pitcher for the 'Cards.N However, we were forced tc decline her invitation as our time was ,rrwing short and we had to fly cn. we crossed the Atlantic Ocean and linded in Dublin, Ireland, to find that Calvin Davis was eaplcyed as keeper of the Blarney Store. After listening to a bit of blarney from Calvin we flew cn to Paris, France, only to see the exciting wonen's hats that had been styled and created by Tommy Lotich. ' .359 N .
