Harold Brod, Nolan M. Fallahay, Seth M. Clickenhaus, Nicholas R. Mayer, Mrs. Frederick W. Pierce, Charles G. Ro- maniello january 25, 1961 TO THE CLASS OF 1961 NEW ROCHELLE HIGH SCHOOL PAGE 4 N. fi SIM JOE SMITH Assistant Superintendent of Schools You have lived through three very difficult years at New Ro chelle High School insofar as the new addition and modernization of the old building are concerned. You have been fortunate that, during these three years, you have had the guidance of an out- standing Principal like Miss E. Loretta Coons. I-Ier leadership and your own fine spirit have enabled you to surmount the diffi- culties which bothered so many of us as adults. Your record as a class has been outstanding. For this you will long be remembered, and also be known as the final class to graduate under Miss Coons' administration of the school. New Rochelle High School has achieved its fine record because of the fine student body and the excellent records its graduates have made in the world of work and in the colleges and universities which they have attended. Everything that is fine about New Rochelle High School stems from the wise and kindly leadership of Miss Coons. We wish you success in all of your future endeavors, and Miss Coons many happy and active years in retirement from her administrative duties. May her satisfaction be that which comes from the knowledge of work well done andthe deep gratitude of her students, professional associates, and an appreciative com- munity. HERBERT C. CLISH Superintendent of Schools

MISS F. LQRETTA COONS Principal HAROLD A. DALEY Assistant Principal PAGE 6 JOHN T. DONOVAN Assistant Principal MISS F. LORETTA COONS Principal HAROLD A. DALEY Assistant Principal The position of assistant principal of as large a school as New Rochelle High involves many responsi- bilities. Discipline must be enforced and both small and important problems must be solved. Mr. Daley has become in this position one of the most respected and devoted members of our faculty. His ability to understand young people has made him one of the best-liked members of the administra- tive staff of the school. Mr. Daley has given generously of his time to help us with our school activities and has been of great assistance particularly with GO. pro- grams. His quiet ways and friendly manner have con- tributed much to the atmosphere of New Rochelle High. The members of the Class of 1961 wish to thank you, Mr. Daley, for all you have done for us during our stay in New Rochelle High School. JOHN T. DONOVAN Assistant Principal Equally sharing the duties of the position of assistant principal with Mr. Daley is Mr. Donovan who was a teacher of English and speech before assuming his present responsibilities. Throughout our years at New Rochelle, Dr. Donovan's wit and humor have drawn him close to the student body. He has become a friend to many of the students because of his warm personality and sense of fun. Despite the circumstances under which one may come in contact with him, all are aware of his sincere interest and desire to help. Mr. Donovan's interest in school activities has been continual. His sponsorship of the Future Teachers of America exemplifies his deep concern both for. his profession and for the youth who will become educators in the near future. The Class of 1961 would like to extend its thanks to you, Mr. Donovan, for helping to make the past three years the most memorable of our school career.
