John Michael Ward, Director VOCAL MUSIC DEPARTMENT The Vocal Music Department is divided into four performing groups, the Senior Chorus. Les Chanteurs. and the Fteshmen-Eighth Grades Chor- uses. Along with the usual high school choral repertoire, the Senior Chor- us and the Opera Workshop have presented such notable works as Handel's Messiah, and Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors. An outgrowth of artistic achievement from the vocal department has been the formation of Les Chanteurs. t' Invitations for performances by Les Chanteurs have been received even from the Cincinnati area. Socially and culturally minded. the Clef Club and the Glee Club attended the Russian Bolshoi Ballet , Camelot , and the Peter Nero Triot' with the Cincinnati Symphony, The C1efC1ub sponsored aString Quartet from Miami University at their annual silver tea. The Junior Vocal classes consisting of the Freshmen and Eighth Grade choruses under the direction of Mr. Larry Allee, explore the choral repertoire in preparation for their upper division of vocal music. The Freshmen Chorus presented two noteworthy concerts this year, dis- playing enthusiasm and vocal refinement of high quality. CHORUS
