Mrs. Marjorie Ackert OPTION II CAREER EXPLORATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICE The Option II service learning experience permits students to earn units of credits through career exploration, community service or work study programs which use community agencies and resources to enhance the educational experience. Students may select a placement for their service-learning experience based upon individual personal needs and career goals. Through actual involvement in the businesses and social service program of the community, students are able to develop pride in themselves and self-confidence while reducing misconceptions about people who may be different in appearance, age or background. They will also have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of career choices, provide the community with a viable source of volunteer services and be able to interact with adults in a positive and constructive way. is
