It is fitting that the Class of 1959 has chosen TIME as the theme for this, their Yearbook. Time plays such an important part in each of our lives. As I ponder in retrospect over the past four years, I marvel at the change that this short period of time has made in the lives of you Seniors who are about to be graduated. You have changed from restless, timid, children, largely unsure of the goals you aimed for in the future, to a group of confident young adults who are facing the days to come with a definite purpose and a plan to accomplish it. I congratulate you on this transformation and as Time continues its flight I am confident that even greater and more admirable changes will take place. I am sure that I speak for the faculty and the Board of Education as well as for myself when I wish you success and a future filled with happiness. Frederick C. Dippel Mr. Frederick C. An altered look about the hills; A Tyrian light the village fills; A wider sunrise in the dawn; A deeper twilight on the lawn; A print of a vermilion foot; A purple finger on the slope: A flippant fly upon the pane; A spider at his trace again; An added strut in chanticleer; A flower expected everywhere: An axe shrill singing in the woods; Fern-odors on untravelled roads — All this, and more I cannot tell, A furtive look you know as well, And Nicodemus' mystery Receives its annual reply. Emily Dickinson SccmMcd It was a bright and cheerful afternoon, Towards the end of the sunny month of June, When the north wind congregates in crowds The floating mountains of the silver clouds From the horizon-and the stainless sky Opens beyond them like eternity. All things rejoice beneath the sun; the weeds, The river, and the corn-fields, and the reeds; The willow leaves that glanced in the light breeze, And the firm foliage of the larger trees.
