Class History In 1954 we came to this school as curious and green Freshmen. We had no idea as to what was about to befall us and felt very lost in such a large place. Soon, however, we began to make a history of our own, gaining momentum with every day. The first noteworthy thing that we did was to win an ice cream party and $25 for second place in the annual Magazine Drive. That year, our class officers were as follows: Janis Shand — President, Janet Shand — Vice President, Elaine Keator — Sec.-Treasurer. We began our Sophomore year with a double victory. First, we won the annual Class Field Day. Then, we added $50 to our treasury by selling the most magazines in the Magazine Drive. Our Sophomore dance, Harvest Moon, was a huge success, showing that we knew how to sponsor good dances. For our officers that year, we elected Janis Shand as President, Joan Bugar as Vice President and Kathy Vett as Sec.-Treasurer. Our Sophomore Hop, “Harvest Moon was a huge success. Floyd Diedolf is our star athlete — here he is in our first game.
