pant) The New Paltz Central High School Band, under the direction of Mrs. Arras, started out early this past fall with many enthusiasts. After a few rehearsals a definite number of members were found that could be counted on for their cooperation and maintenance of a good school band. The band was the largest it has ever been with many new members from the Freshman class. We added a new activity this year, that of playing for the basketball games. Players and rooters enjoyed the marches, and other tunes that put all in a fighting spirit for the game. :in p f ®lee Club Our ranks have been more than doubled this past year. As a complete group we sang at the May Festival, in Assembly, and at the Spring Conference at Marlboro. We will help give the seniors a royal send-off at graduation. A large select group prepared a varied program of songs for the Annual Competition Festival. A smaller group, consisting mostly of Juniors and Seniors, participated in the N.Y.S.S.M.A. All State Festival last fall at Kingston, N. Y. This group was divided between the All State Mixed Chorus and the Girl's Choir. This same group from our club anticipates singing on a broadcast from WKIP soon. Pmn True blue as the sky, pure as a cloud, Our colors express our aims out loud. Sorority sisters one and all, Full memories of pleasure recall. Our first activity: initiation. Was one of much consternation; The going was rough we do report. But all nine proved their willing sport. We held our banquet at Williams Lake, Each sister her best beau did take, A wonderful time was had by all. This memory we’ll most of all recall. When autumn leaves began to glide, Our thoughts turned to a gay hay ride, Three cheers for our cake and cookie sale! No ill effects did this entail. Our minds became more serious, Christmas time drew near. Collecting food for those who needed A bit of Christmas Cheer. As this year is ebbing, We see that happiness. Is found in simple friendship, And just togetherness OFFICERS Marie Ruiz President Rufcnc Smith Vice-President Peggy Rhinehart Secretary Florence Ellison Treasurer O.M.N.
