SENIORS FOR four years we have tried, with more or less success, to make our class the most outstanding in the history of the New Paltz High School. We began of necessity as freshmen devoting most of that first year to getting accustomed to our new environment. Although we did not organize as a class until our senior year, we have always worked together and have helped our upper-classmen with all their undertakings. Early in the fall of nineteen-thirty the officers of the class were chosen as follows: President—James Sherman; Vice-President—Lawrence Osterhoudt; Secretary—Lula Wright; Treasurer—Ramsay Wood. Shortly after our organization we selected, with the help of all the underclassmen, our class rings which we have decided to make standard for five years. Our greatest desire as a class, was to put out a year book, a task never undertaken by former classes. The needed money was obtained by presenting a play entitled “The Nut Farm” and by selling magazines. During all these years, although we have been chiefly concerned with education, we have supplied musicians, debaters, athletes and leaders for our Alma Mater. As we glance back over our high school lives we realize that in spite of difficulties we have spent four of our happiest years. If our future days are as full and as profitable as those we now end, we shall indeed be really living 9
