During July of 1986, Miss Liberties face lift Is finished and she is showered with fireworks on her 100th birthday. Hundreds of ships, from dingees to destroyers, bobbed along in the N.Y. harbor as people lined the shores to observe the fabulous celebrations in honor of Lady Liberty. — The indistructable compact disc, played with lasers, threatens records and tapes to become obsolete. — Millions of parents are capturing their childrens earliest years on video tape, so they arc able to embarrass them later on in life with those famous bath shots. — Classic Coke makes a triumphant return after New Coke fails. TOP MOVIES • Top Gun • Starring Tom Cruise — every girl wants him, every guy wants to be him. • Platoon • the gruesome portrayal of the Vietnam War. • Fatal Attraction • makes you think twice. • Gremlins • Spell berg does it again. • Ferris Beullers Day Off • he was allowed to go to his senior picnic. • Temple of Doom • • Out of Africa • • Ernest Goes to Camp • • Tootsie • Ghandi 1988 On July 13, 1986 a world rock festival was held for famine relief. A multitude of famous gingers including Paul McCartney, Ilob Dylan, Tina Turner, Mick Jagger, L'2, and Madonna performed to a crowd of over 90,000 in Philadelphia to raise over 850,000,000 dollars for famine relief. In London another concert was taking place simultaneously. Bandaid, besides giving a huge concert, also produced the hit single “Do They Know It’s Christmas” whos proceeds went to the starving people of Africa. Both concerts w'ere a huge success, and were the 80’s form of Woodstock. ’84 Olympics held in Los Angeles. 84 Mary Lou Retton stuns the world by winning the gold in gymnastics. 85 Boris Becker wins Wimbeldon making him the youngest champ ever. 86 Met’s defeat the Red Socks in the world series. 86 Larrv Bird leads Boston Celtics to their 16th NBA title. 86 Ivan Lendl w’ins his 2nd U.S. open. 86 Refrigerator Perry helps Bears defeat New England in Super Bowl XV. 85 Pete Rose, 44 years old, breaks Ty Cobb’s record with his 4,192 career hit. Chernobyl is an example of the “sinister force” of nuclear power gone out of control. On April 20, 1986 in Chernobl, Russia an explosion torched off a raging fire that spread outside the reaction and released dangerous amounts of radioactivity. It is believed that 2 people died and 148 people w'ere hospitalized. A four point program to hasten the exchange of information on nuclear accidents was offered by Gorbachev. Mr. Hilton 1960 Mr. Hilton remembers then there was no computer to do our report curds for the teachers. They had to do them all by hand. He remembers when the entire faculty would have to sit down together in one room to do report cards. Hack then there were about 30-40 faculty members. They would gather in the faculty lounge, which Is now the nurse’s office. Someone would call our students names individually and every teachers who had that students would yell out their grade. It was then written down manually on the report card to be given to the students later. The Challenger explodes as a horrified nation watches. January 28 is a day that will last in the minds of Americans forever. Seven astronauts were killed in the disaster including Christa McAulifTe, a high school teacher from New Hampshire, who would have been the first ordinary citizen in space. The Incident brings the United States space program to a stand still. Terror!am grips the whole world. 1985 may very well he remembered as the year of terrorism. Thousansds of innocent people have been killed for the purpose of advancing political causes. High incidence of highjacking , bombings, kidnapping, and murder has sparked governments into action, toughening their attitudes and tightening their security. — Andy and Fergie delight the public with their marriage. — Men walk free in space 170 miles up. — Smoking in public places becomes a controversial issue. — The average prices of homes soar past the 8100,000 mark. — Crazed gun man kill 20 unarmed citizens in McDonalds. — Asbestos removals closes down schools across country. The Iran Contra affair begins in the fall of 1986, when it is revealed in a Lebanese newspaper that the United States has offered Iran arms in return for American hostages. There were many unsuccessful attempts to link the plan to the upper levels of the Reagan administration. Lt. Colonel Oliver North wound up taking the blame for the administration and becomes a national hero in the process. OTHER SCANDALS: — TV Evungcllstn hi! hard. .Ilm and Tammy Uakker are forced to resign from their religious leadership roles after Jim Bakker Is caught in his affair with Jessica Hahn. — Jimmy Swuggart begs forgiveness on TV for his sins of adultery. — Gary Hart is forced to withdraw from the presidential race after Monkey Business with Donna Rice. SENIORS of 1988 GRADUATE 1984 — Indira Gandhi murdered. — Foreign Aid increases to starving Ethiopians. — Fatal gas leak in Bhopal kills 2,100, Union Carbide held responsible. — Three Commerical planes crash in one month, death toll rises to 711. — Huge quake kills thousands in Mexico. CRACK AIDS Crack and AIDS have become the newest health dangers across the w'orld. Crack is a highly addictive form of Cocaine and spreads quickly due to it’s availability and cheap prices. AIDS (Acquired Immune Dieflccncy Syndrome) continues to kill thousands and scare millions. The disease is no longer confined to homosexuals and intravenous drug users; now the disease is spreading into the lives of heterosexuals as well. Efforts to find a cure are extensive but unsuccessful. 28

Combined their own rebellious and provocative nature with their Barbizon training. Josh Lytle and Jake Mallory stun the hair conscience world w’ith their new styles. Living in the lap of luxury, Philip Bower gives in to his every whim. After winning 812,000,000 in the lottery he has further developed his free-for-all attitude which is quite contagious for all that are around him. He owns two limo’s, a Rolls Royce, a summer home on the Riviera, and a winter home on the beaches of Malibu. Katrina Mojzesz comes up with a newr line of clothing, in w'hich she brings back the long prairie skirt and ruffles. She compliments her creations by adding the corset, creating the hour-glass figure. Dr. Christian Daher replaces Dr. Tracy as superintendent of schools. After earning his PhD. in education from Bennington College ( 1 party school), he then returned to New Milford with his wife and six kids. He wanted his children to be brought up and reared in the same educational system in w'hich he contributed much too. The United States is euphoric as the last of our MIAfe and POW’s come home from Asia. The man responsible for the safe return of our servicemen is Mr. Louis Fox. His many trips to Vietnam and negotiations w'ith their incarcerators proved to be successful due to this persuasive technique and sympathetic car to the Vietnamese economic problems. Through his life long efforts toward peace and the end of human suffering, Mr. Fox has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. —Hitting the top 10 with his debut album, featuring his fanatical drum solos, is Bob King and his ingenious band. —Joanna Angelic and Chrissie Goyette Join u punk rock group and ravage the lands of such countries as England, France, and Belgium on their world wide tour. They continuously play to sold out concerts, and grow more popular by the hour. —.Jonathon Saul is the modern day Pavarrotti. In his many great performances he enthralls his audiences with his dramatic inferences and brings them to tears with his moving portrayals of tragedies. After graduating from Harvard Medical School w’ith a 3.9 G.P.A. Dr. Emily Rogg devoted all of her time and energy to the research for the cures of AIDS and cancer. These two diseases have persisted to control, disrupt, and destroy the lives of our families and loved ones. Until now' there has been little hope in finding a cure for them. Dr. Rogg accidentally poured the wrong solution into a flask and found the drug that killed the AIDS virus. With a few alterations to this compound came the cure for cancer. The population of the world has hit maximum capacity. The number of homeless is increasing. The old fantasy of a new’ w’orld on the moon suddenly becomes a reality w’ith the help of Chris McCullough. Mr. McCullough the present day owner of the Hilton enterprise seeks to expand his business chain of hotels to the moon. He gets much help and support from fellow entrepreneur Elias Bouzakis. Mr. Bou-zakis brings the Holiday Restaurant to the moon. Preparations for this project are already under wray. 30
