INDEX SENIORS FACULTY UNDERCLASSMEN CLUBS SPORTS SPONSORS Dedication 16 NEW MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL 25 SUNNY VALLEY ROAD NEW MILFORD CONNECTICUT 17 79 103 131 157 193 SHERMAN We. the New Milford High School Class of 1979. cannot claim to share a common heritage, a common spirit, nor common goals. We all. however, are encircled by geographic boundaries and reside within that region at the same time. We share a common time and space. The two towns in which we live. New Milford and Sherman, are captured in this volume as they are in 1978 and 1979. Neither the towns nor we will ever be the same. Our dispersion is eminent. We will no longer be found wholly within a tiny spot on the Earth. We will be expanding our geographic horizons. We dedicate ourselves to expand ourselves in every positive meaning of the word, without forgetting the beautiful towns of Sherman and New Milford and their people during school days at New Milford High School. I had the opportunity to see many differences between the U.SA. and Venezuela. I saw the beauty of the nature in each season and I had my first experience with snow. I met a lot of nice people: my family, my friends, and the teachers. These people helped me a lot when I was down and confused. They gave me help, understanding and sympathy and patience. That is why I want to thank you. I would like to especially thank the Lindholms who not only gave me a place in their home, but also their love needed to carry on. I love you and I will remember you forever. Chepy Without the help of Mr. Raymond, the A.F.S. club at N.M.H.S. would not be such a success. The amount of time which he devotes to the club is uncountable. One of the mottos of A.F.S. is changing names into faces. Mr. Raymond has done that for many years. Now when we hear about Norway we will think of Anna-Marit. or Venezuela. Chepy. Without this man. Norway and Venezuela would still be names, not faces of two beautiful people. Greetings from Norway! Well, now the hour has come when it is my turn to write a note to you. I can only say what I have said so many times before. Thank you everybody! Thank you so much for all you have given me the four months I have already been here. America is very different from Norway, but with all of the kindness you have shown me, adjusting has not been difficult. I will give a special thanks to the teachers 1 have had for understanding. I’m only sorry for one thing, and that is that the football season is over. One thing is for sure, I will come back to see another game and visit my friends. Since I came here all by myself, it has meant a lot to me that I could trust people. To end. I will give a special thanks and love to the Croteau’s who hosted me this year. They have just been fantastic!! Thanks again and I will remember always New Milford and the Greenwave so long as I live, and 1 will always love you. Thank you! Love, Anne Marit PS A special thanks to the Leilis and C. Raymond. Donna Leili, who is a member of the class of 79, is spending a year in Chile as an A.F.S. student. Donna left in February of 1978, and will be returning for the second half of her senior year. We all hope that she had an enjoyable experience and are confident that she represented our country well. 78 80 Sandy Anderson Mrs. Terry Kitney, initially the sole secretary of New Milford High School, has retired after a respectful and “enjoyable” twenty years. The organization of the class has been evident throughout our high school years. This has been a great asset in bringing the class together as one. We’d especially like to thank our Class Advisors, Miss Vallombroso and Mr. Kellogg. With their help and devotion, our projects were a success. You’re the best class anyone could ever ask for. Thank you for always coming through when we needed you. See you at the Class Reunion! Nancy, Kristy, Kathy, and Mary 156 157 kV'V -v Row 1: J. Manouse. D. Grossenbacher, E. Downs, J. Hilton, J.
