GEORGE DORING We, the Class of 1968, proudly dedicate our yearbook to Mrs. Helen Pease and Mr. George Doling. As our class advisers, they have given much time and effort to our highly successful talent show, junior prom, and class socials. They have made our days at New Milford High School pleasant through Mrs. Pease’s cheerful disposition and Mr. Doring’s continual sense of humor. With much appreciation, we dedicate the 1968 Schaghti-coke to Mrs. Pease and Mr. Doling. 5 Daniel E. Center, Jr. Principal To the Class of 1968: At the time I am writing this message, great things are expected of you. As a class, the professional staff holds you in high regard. When June arrives and you receive this yearbook, considerable achievement and contributions could he yours in academic and athletic areas and in general overall school improvements. We hope to see these developments. May the future contain for you your rightful share of happiness and accomplishments. I sincerely hope that in the years ahead you will he able to recall pleasant memories from your high school days. Dear Friends, This year I have spent here as a senior has been very interesting because now I know how American people think, act, and live. In school I have learned a lot about the U.S.A. especially in the U. S. History and Contemporary Issues classes. This will help me when I am answering questions about the U.S. at home. I also hope that you know a little more about Sweden now. I really want to thank the Raymond Lindstedt family and all the other people who have worked for me and helped me. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed this year. I hope to come back to visit all of you again. 8 Yours, Lars Sjolander MR. ROBERT ASMAN B. A. History MRS. DIANA AULT B.S. Ol ft IHHil National Theater To IVrl’orm At NMHS New Milford edged out by Wilton. SO to SS A game that nobody figured to be a battle turned out to be one of the biggest games of the season as the Big Green came within two points of upsetting number one Wilton. Playing for the first time as a unified team the Green Wave using five men played a standout defensive game and a well rounded offensive game. In every department except foul shooting the Green surpassed the taller Wilton team. From the field the New Milford players shot at a 41 percent clip while Wilton shot at only a 31 percent clip. New Milford also out-rebounded Wilton 47 to 39. The first period was a hard fought battle with each team hitting well and playing precl-sion ball. The period ended with both teams deadlocked at 14 apiece. The second period was more of the same although New Milford seemed the stronger. As the half ended New Milford had drawn away to a 32-29 lead The third period was all New Milford as they continued to pull away and as the final period began the Green had built up a dominating 4.% to 36 lead. In the final period Wilton began to whittle down N.M.'s lead and at the buzzer on two foul shots tied the score at . 4 all. In the five minute overtime the Green again fought Wilton on called at the buzzer The Wilton played dropped in the first point and New Mil fool's bubble burst. The final score New Milford 39 Wilton 60 An all around performance by all members of the team standouts were Chip Dorwin played a brilliant game tallying 23 points, hauling down 14 rebounds. and along with Tom Roberts. Mike Bierbower, Gary Rogers, and Ken Me Kenney played a standout defensive game. Of interest is the fact that Wilton's 6 8” Tom Nessel was held to only 16 points. Although a disappointing defeat the game did give the Green a new incentive to excel in the coming tournament. by I .arr Kudner Through the efforts of Mrs Holt. Future Teachers Association, National Honor Society, the school's general fund, and the federal government have all donated money to make this performance possible Gianni Schu .hi is a play about a clever peasant who has achieved success. Taking place in Florence. Italy in 1299 AD. the scene is the bed chamber of wealthy and newly dcceaggd Buoao Donati. Old Buoso's relatives are more concerned about his last will than about his death. It seems Buoao bequeathed his fortune to a monastery and not to the relatives who. in turn, feel slighted. The relatives decide to seek the advice of Gianni Schicchi, who they feel is smart and clever enough to change anything. Schicchi decides to impersonate the dead man. The result is a comedy that is highly amusing and easy to follow. A 14-tncmber cast and the famed musical sculptures will be featured. According to Managing Director David Hav .
