NMSU ' s first cinema course, created and taught by Professor Orville Wanzer, was offered last spring. Those students who signed up for a snap course were rather unhappily surprised, but the o erall reaction was favorable: most students were willing to do some studying to learn a great deal about film history, quality, and techniques. Mr. Wan- zer now has an actual film studio (a con- verted barracks in Mesilla Park) where stu- dents and friends experiment with acting, directing, and film-making techniques. Professor John Hadsell gives Dr. Reed ' s Survey of English Literature class a lec- ture on Yeats and Eliot.
