ASSOCIATED STUDENTS COMMISSION ' 57 ' 58 Executive Branch I THE PRESIDENT ' S CABINET— Gail Warden, Homecoming chairman; Sally Hodges, Traditions Rallies; Dean Philip Ambrose; Buck Rhodes, President; Bobbie Freeman, Chairman of the Student Publications Board; David Travis, Chairman of the Intramurals Board. VICE PRESIDENT Donovan Foster was also the President of the first Student Senate. Here he talks over Senate business with Janet Bonomo, Chief Clerk of the Senate. THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS ' COMMISSION for 1957-58 was the first ASC group to work under a system of two branches of government, as provided for in the constitution ratified by the student body in the spring of 1957. The executive branch of the ASC is made up of the several boards and committees that carry on student activities on the campus. These boards either received student funds for their operation or received support of the ASC. At any rate the president of the ASC was respon- sible for their operation. The chairmen of the boards and committees were called in frequently to advise the president on a variety of matters that came before the ASC during the year. The Vice-president carried on a dual role, he was a member of the executive branch and President of the Student Senate. A great many of the governmental activities centered around his office. 19
