Teacher: 'How do you get rid of current worms?n Gwendolyn: NBy making jelly.n Republican: Wwhy are you a Dem- ocrat?n Democrat: NBecause my father was a Democrat, my grandfather was a Democrat, and my great- grandfather was a Democrat: therefore, I'm a Democrat.N Republican: HIf your father was a fool, your grandfather was a fool, and your great- grandfather was a fool, what would you be?H Democrat: nI'd be a Republican.n A Freshie on a zoology trip, seeing a snake said, UOh, teach- er! T. Friend: HDoes your bride know anything about cooking?n Launstein: NWell, I heard her telephoning her mother inquiring if she had to use soft water for soft-boiled eggs and hard water for hard- boiled eggs.N Helena was walking past the butcher shop one day and saw the lines conspicuously paint- ed in white letters on the window: Weiners ---------- 50 Hamburgers ------- 27 NMy landln she exclaimed.nWhat a game.n Cft heard: NSure I know him. He sleeps next to me in Econom- ics class.N NNow,N said the teacher, NGive me a definition of space.N WSpace,N Rosalyn began, NIS where there is nothing. I can't explain it exactly, but I have it in my head.N Sarah: NSo you finally heard from that college boy who took you out?N Elizabeth: nYes, and he's a real gentleman. He asked if I got home from the dance he took me to all right.u Mr. Nelsonziln Geometryl NJoe, extend your sides in all direca tions.N Billy has a violin that he loves to play. One day he was strutting about the room play- ing it when his mother attempt- ed a mild protest: NBilly,W she said, NThat's an awful noise you're making.N So Billy sat down and took his shoes off. December 1947: Johnnie Waldie who is actively engaged in construction work QW. P. A.J, had an unusual experience the other day. While comfortably snoring on a shovel, a dog sud- denly appeared and bit him on the leg. Johnny awoke, yawned and said: nlf I had another shovel, I'd bat your brains outtn Brower: nWell, Merlin, if war comes to the U. S. A., will you enlist?N Merlin: nNope. Can't. I join ed the 'E' patrol.W Brower: NThe 'B' patrol?N Merlin: NYes, sir, I'm gonna 'B' here when they leave, and I'm gonna 'B' here when they come back.N A patient teacher was trying to show a small boy how to read with expression. NWhere- are-you-going?N read Jimmy, laboriously, with no accent whatever. NTry that again,N said the teacher. NRead as if you were talking. Notice the mark at the end.N Jimmy stud- ied the interrogation mark a moment, and an idea seemed to dawn upon him. Then he read triumphantly, HWhere are you going, little button hook?n I
