1939 - MISTEGUAY - 1940 SENIOR CLASS EISTORY Since the desirable task of historian has been assigned to me, it is with pleasure that I accept it. When at last a class has passed through its happy life and has brought it to an eventful termination, it would seem fitting that a record of its progress should be made. Our Vice-President, elizabeth Snyder, was born in l925. She has attended the Hubbel, Brown and Gillct Schools before coming to New Lothrop. She has worked very hard and has come out at the head of the class. However, Howard Launstein, a junior has shown her competition in Chemistry, he too has given her a heart's interest. Rosalyn Malloy born in 1924 is the youngest member of our class. Her first eight years of knowledge were acquired at the Brown School. Then she came to New Lothrop and has been a faithful worker during her high school career. Gwendolyn Waldie first saw light of day in 1922. She was born near New Lothrop and has lived there ever since. Gwendolyn is our typical dignified senior, quiet and reserved Her first two years of school, after finishing the eighth grade there she entered New Lothrop High School as a frestman. Dixie Raleigh was born in 1925 in New Lothrop. She completed her first eight years at the hubbel School. She entered New Lothrop ligh School in 1956 as a freshman. Dixie says she is going to be a nurse but me think she will probably take up Light Fousekeeping instead. In l925 a son, Merlin, was born to Mr. and Mrs. McKone. Merlin attended the Gillet School for six years and then he finished tis education in New Lothrop. We haven't much to say about Merlin only that he makes a very good negro in a play. Vernon Brower was born in Byron in l925. Fe moved to New Lothrop at the age of three. 'He attended the Gillet School before coming to New Lothrop School. As for my own history I haven't much to say only that I was born near New Lothrop in l922 and I attended the Brown School for eight years previous to coming to New Lothrop in l956. To our teachers we five our appreciation for the untiring efforts in our behalf, their counsel, their suggestions and their guidance through the tests of student life. There will be as many destinies as members of the class and by pursuing duty honestly, living nobly, and following the motive expressed by our class motto we may be assured that our lives will count in this world.
