We, the senior class of 1959, dedicate our yearbook to Miss Marjorie Harper. Miss Harper has been teaching for forty-five years. She has taught for the last twenty-eight years in the New London school system. Miss Harper is indeed a part of the community and has had a big part in the shaping of the lives of several generations of young people in Neiv London. Marching Band The marching band brought home another Division I this year. Although beset by many obstacles of nature such as rain and mud, the band, under the constant supervision of Franklin Krieger, went onto prove tiial they have one of the finest precision bands in the slate. All State Band Ronald Lem and Byron Quandt par- ticipated in the All-State Band which was held at the KRNT Theater in Des Moines over Thanksgiving vacation. The NLIIS band is very proud of the boys' accomplishments. NEW LONDON FARMER'S CO-OP s BUILDING MATERIALS Sax Trio and Sax Quartet Sandra Hobart, Sara Burkhart, Rita DeSfxiin, Duane Snailes, Dayle Linder, Marcia Martin, Ronald Lenz. The new sax group, the trio, received a Division I rating this year. The quar- tet received a 11. Clarinet and Woodwind Trios Carol Prehtn, Harvey Quandt, Sharon Angst cad, Ronald Lenz, Diane lledfern, Barbara Denney, Dorothy Peterson, Pat Petzinger (missing). The trio consisting of three soprano clarinets, atul the trio consisting of soprano and bass clarinets, and a flute received Division I ratings. The mixed clarinet group received a II. French Horn Quartet and Brass Sextet Byron Quandt, Avon Coe, Nancy Mc- Neely, Barbara Hill, Eddie Blythe, Fred Messer, Aaron Coe, Bill Shipley, Linda Iiedfern. The Brass Sextet received a Division I this year and the French Horn Quartet received a II. C. L. Junior High Track BURLINGTON SPORTING 28 GOODS Grades Senior Class of 1959 Tuesday, May 26, 1959, the senior class gathered for the last time receiving their diplomas ami bidding final farewells to academic life in New London High School. Though each has departed to go his separate ivay it will not be soon when they will be forgotten, for their accomplishments have been great ami the honors which they have reaped are numerous. The people of New London are proud of them for we know that this class is a superior class.
