I, Dolly Turner, leave my ability to go steady to Peggy Pickler. I, Don Burleson, leave my muscles to Gene Smith. I, Harold Bush, leave. Last Will and Testament We. the graduating class of New London High School of 1955, realizing that the close of our school days is near at hand, think it wise to leave something to those who in the future will undertake to fill our places. In the course of our high school days, naturally, we would like to dispose of all our other characteristics, habits, beloved possessions, and worldly goods as follows: Section I. To Mr. Turner and the faculty, we leave a sincere apprecia- tion for their interest and willingness to help each student. Section II. To Mr. Basinger we leave our gratitude for keeping our school and school grounds clean. Section III. To the Junior Class of 1955, we leave our position as digni- fied Seniors. We hope that your Senior year will be as wonderful as ours. Section IV. To our advisor, Mrs. Rogers, we leave our grateful appre- ciation for friendship and understanding through our high school years. Section V. Prophecy As I was walking down a long, dusiy road one late autum afternoon, I was thinking of my classmates, wondering what each would be doing ten or twelve years from now; when, to my surprise, a hot-rod honked its horn. The driver stepped on the brakes and asked if I would like to take a ride. Of course, I said yes. He asked where to. So I said into the future ten or twelve years to see what my classmates will be doing. With that we were off. We turned off the dusty road and went by Bush Grocery owned by Harold Bush with Tommy Miller as assistant manager. Leaving the grocery store, we entered the residential section where the new high school was situated . Here we found Shelva PickJ.er teaching French, Billy Smith as agriculture teacher, and Merle Palmer, home eco- nomics teacher. The coaches of this school were Thomas Harris for the boys ' team and Johnsie Greene as girls ' coach. Dolly Turner is married and a neighbor to Daisy Morton, also married. Betty Lou Holt and Horace Mabry are models for the Donnie Cloth- ing Shop owned by Don Burleson. Thomas Pickler is head clothing stylist. As head chemist with a large chemical concern, Mary Ben Harris is busy, but happy, with her test tubes. Benny Furr is a lawyer and has Alene Chandler as his secretary. Glenn Eudy has a little hospital near the outskirts of town with Ramelle Pickler and Patsy Thomas as his head nurses. Lynn Eury is owner of the local paper with Evelyn Talbert and Anne Pinion as chief columists. Ruth Barringer is owner of 5-10-25c store with Alma Treece as assis- tant manager, and efficient office girls, Billie Ann Ferrell and Tempie Lefler. Reece Whitley and Howard Pickler are partners in a used car lot. Gene Mahathey has a large airport on the outskirts of town. Jo Ann Herlocker is very happy, for in her orphanage are twenty-five children which she loves dearly. About ten miles from all this was a large building with a sign bearing the name Rogers Rest Home. To my amazement it was owned by Mrs. Martha Rogers, but who wouldn ' t need a rest after teaching us? Prophet Alma Treece
