'ii i X i NX With the New London area's growing population, it was necessary to erect a new school to accommodate a rapidly increasing student body. After consid- erable planning, the construction of a new 26475, OOO high school unit, designed by Alfred Granger Associates of Han- over, was contracted with Bean Con- struction Company of Keene. The work was begun in the summer of 1961, and the new plant was planned for occupancy with the beginning of the 1962-3 school year. The pictures on this page show phases of the new construction. The new school facilities represent not only the growth of our region but also the opportunity for an expanded program designed to meet the needs of students enter- ing an era requiring mental skill and physical stamina. With people we will grow-- with education we shall succeed! X x
