There is no simple formula for happiness in life, hut hard work and honest devotion to a clearly conceived and high ideal will do as much as anything I can recommend to you. DEDICATION We, the Class of 1953, dedicate this annual to Louis Schmal- lenberg in appreciation for the untiring effort with which he has served the students of New London High School. ln 1935, Mr. Schmallenberg became associated with the school as a member of the Board of Education. After serving in this capacity for eight years, he resigned to assume his present position as Chief Engineer in the school system. Too often we fail to appreciate those factors that contribute most toward the attainment of our goals. We are very fortunate to be influenced by the faithful devotion of Mr. Smallenberg. 6
