President, James Madden, Vice President, Carmen Breitenfeldtg Secretary, Keith Weyenbergg Treasurer, Joyce Klingbeil. O ony To the melancholy strains of the organ, the Senior class marched slowly out of the auditorium. A few of the- girls were weeping softly and several of the boys were trying to hide their efforts to blink back the tears by bending their heads solemnly. I That scene is quite a contrast to .a day in September :almost four years ago. On that day, we, who are Seniors now, filed into the auditorium laughing with our friends .and trying so hard to look older land act experienced. Unfortunately, the fact that we were Fresh stood out all over us. Our skirts were too short, our manner was not confident, and our lips were not painted. 'The hope that high school would be one big social whirl was soon found to be a mistaken idea. After summer vacation, we came back with boundless enthusiasm. As Sophomores, we began to search for new worlds to conquer, and conquer we did! Athletics, music, forensics, and dramatics fell before our talented forces. Ther Wallflower Cuts In, o'ur Junior one-act play, brings back memories of hard work and much fun. In the spring came more work and fun preparing for the annual Junior prom. We danced to the soft tones of Harbor Lights in a world of b-l'uef, lit by a lighthouse, guarded by sailors. Our Miss Brooks, our mirthful 'Senior Class play, set the pace for our last yelar at Washington High. It was carried on in our one-act comedy, S-he Married Well. Now that we have come to the star we've been reaching for, let us look ahead into the future with pleasant memorie-s, serious faces, great ambitions, and 'unlimited determination, knowing that we fare prepared to Go Forth to Serve.
