' ,JW TJFMQ , fl f ' V 1,111.1 1' .jfbl 1' -V 7 A 1 pQ' v 1V N U , 1, ff E VW if-H' ' ' fr ' A CLASS OFFICERS EUGENE HOTCHKISS IANE HUEBNER Presxdent Secretary KENNETH BRAULT HARRY HERRES Vxce Presxdent Treasurer SENIOR CLASS The Class of 39 entered the d1gn1f1ed halls of hlgher learnrng as freshres 1n 1935 We d1d so wtth a record enrollment of 147 As usual we wandered about as 1f lost However under the able gu1dance of M1ss Ahce Howard class offlcers were elected Peter Laux led the class for the f1rst lap of the four to come Many answered the call to school act1v1t1es Some decrded to try football others were lured to forensrcs Then came basketball and four boys turned to that Eleven turned to mus1c and Mary Dawson was chosen drum major By the fall of 1936 our number had decreased to 139 Alan Fonstad took hrs place at the head of the class We were less pan1cky and certalnly very hopeful Our pep was exempl1f1ed by our s1x members 1n the Pep Club Mary Dawson Audrey Dean Evelyn Frrtz Douglas Hanson Iane Huebner and Douglas Zernrcke As evrdence of our contlnued pep we were awarded the School Splfll Cup at the end of the year The 1un1or year began w1th a decrease to 123 but We were st1ll deter mrned We felt We were 1nd1spensable to the school The Iun1or Prom was the most outstandtng soc1al event It was planned by Harold Berman Douglas Hanson Iane Huebner Ela1ne Sa1ndon Mary Saterstrom Eugene Warnecke charrmen and lack Cole Ruth Sawall Audrey Dean Arthur Davy class offtcers A deck scene of a large l1ner greeted the many students and towns people who attended the prom The grand march was led by lack Cole and Mary Saterstrom We closed the year by aga1n w1nn1ng the School Sp1r1t Cup makrng two consecut1ve years of und1m1n1shed sp1r1t That year we lost a most prom1s1ng student Erv1n Bohlman He was a good worker enthusrastlc 1n school GCl1V1 l16S espec1ally football HIS death left a deep gap a frlend had gone Ah' sen1ors at last' After three years of worktng and p1ay1ng together we are ready to step out to take our place rn the great w1de world One hundred f1fteen of the freshles who entered 1n 35 have reached the1r sen1or year Many of the students 1n our class have been on the honor roll throughout the1r four years These students deserve no st1nted amount of pra1se for the1r stead fast 1nterest 1n the1r work and the1r school Deta1ls have been taken care of and all that remalns IS graduatton Even these plans are under way to make us full fledged alumn1 on May 29 ll? r' I 7 1 ti ' Nj . . , 1 1 1 1 1 , . 1 1 - 1 1 1 1 1 1 - 1 I . - 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 I ' I - . . 1 , . . . . , . . , .
