K v 12 :NX N I LONDON HIGH sol-loot Trophies and Aw ards HE New London High School has several trophies and awards which are given each year to promote interest ID the various school activities One of these the Thrlft Banner was presented to the school by the Class of 1927 It is awarded each year to the class having the highest bmking record I was won last year by the Class of 1933 and as they are in the lead as this write up goes to press it IS believed that they will again be declared wmners The oratory medal was presented to the school in 1924 by Arthur Cuff who graduated with the Class of 1931 and was won this year by Arthur Palmer of the Class of 1932 Eight sllver Loving Cups were given to the school by the Class of 1926 to bc awarded to the first and second place winners in all four phases of public speaking The winners of the oratory cups last year were Alice Palmer Class of 1931 who won first place and Arthur Palmer Class of 1932 who won second place The first place cup was won this year by Arthur Palmer Class of 1932 and the second place cup was won by Ardell Roepke Class of 1932 In declamatory work the wmners las year were Ruth Plumb Class of 1931 first place and Hazel Bleck Class of 1931 second place The winners this year were Beatrice Manske Class of 1933 who re celved first place and Agnes McN1chols Class of 1935 who won second place The extemporaneous speaking cups were won last year by Arthur Palmer Class of 1932 who received first place and William Sohrwelde Class of 1932 who received second First place was won thu year by Wesley Calef and second place was won by Wil iam Sohrwelde Extemporaneous reading wmners were first place Mary June Rlckaby Class of 1934 and second Hazel Bleck Class of 1931 Winners this year were first place Louise Demmmg Class of 1934 and second Alice Zxemer Class of 1932 The Class of 1925 presented a declamatory medal to the school to be awarded each year to the student winning first place ln declamation It was awarded last year to Ruth Plumb of the Class of 1931 and this year to Beatrice Manske of the Class of 1933 The Class of 1925 also gave to the school a trophy called the Student Honor Cup It IS awarded to the student whose average IS the highest throughout the school year It was won last year by Delos Hobbs a member of the Class of 1933 Perhaps the most popular trophy IS the School Sp1r1t Cup It was given to the school by the Class of 1924 It IS presented to the class showing the most school splrlt throughout the year The spirit of each class is based on the number of mem bers who take part in music athletic and forensic events and also on the stunt put on by each class on the annual stunt night The cup was won last year by the Class of 1931 and this year by the Class of 1932 Yeah' Ads ertismg Pay s Mr Calef What kind of goods are sample goods?
