The season got off to a rocky start as the Panthers stumbled along in their first five games to an unimpressive 1-3-1 record. There the “Orange Crush” caught fire and went undefeated through the last half of the season. There were several factors that contributed to the turn-about, but the never say die” attitude of the team certainly was the most important. This strong team finished, and an enthusiastic group of underclassmen should bring even brighter days for New Lex Football. SCOREBOARD N.L. Their record does not reflect the hard work the team put into cross country. Their dedication for their coach, fellow teammates and themselves is evident in their early morning practices which were never missed. Cross Country at New Lex will definitely improve as the sport matures. Row 1 - Rusty Smith, Mike Vigue, John Reichley. Row 2 - Marie Vigue, Kevin Kochensparger, Harley Weidner.
