The Future Scientists' main objectives are to provide a greater appreciation of science and to promote scientific research through a required science fair project. Each year members strive to earn points by writing historical sketches of famous scientists, science fiction stories, science crosswords, exhibiting science fair projects, and by serving on various committees. The Outstanding Science Club Member Award is presented annually to the member earning the most points. Going on a field trip in May is an annual event of the club. Field trips acquaint members with the practical application of science in the daily working world.
