Donna McClintock, Bill Butcher, and Bill Danielson. The Art Club, under the direction of Mr. Charles Diezman, has advanced in the fields of water color, oil painting, charcoal, sculpture, and clay. The purpose of the Art Club is to encourage interest in art in its different phases. Each year initiation begins with different degrees. Achievement is finally awarded by each student taking his oath to the club. The new members are then honored by a dinner. This club engages in a wide range of activities. Among these activities are trips to art galleries, an annual Art Club dance, and entering members'work in competition throughout the state. Officers were Jim Hammond, president; Neil Tharp, vice-president; Lee Barkely, secretary; and Tamy Danison, treasurer.

Newspaper Receives First Class Rating The PANTHONIAN is the official publication of New Lexington High School. This school paper is published every three weeks by a voluntary staff of freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The PANTHONIAN is completely self-supporting. As a member of the National Scholastic Press Association, the PANTHONIAN is critically graded once each semester, and received a First Class rating for the first semester. The staff is composed of twenty-three students, fourteen of whom are members of the '66 graduating class. The editorial staff consists of twelve; editor-in-chief, assistant editor, sports editor, and nine reporters. The production staff includes ten, and there is one business manager. Susan Furgason is editor of the PANTHONIAN, 12 and Mr. William Weaver is advisor.
