LEXINGTONIAN SENJCJJQ els-XL35 rllb1fCmY A very sober faced man w1th much mtelhgence was thmkmg It was September 1935 and many new faces so many dlfferent types of boys and g1rls cllmbed the steps of N LH S There were some laughlng as 1f the whole world were at thexr feet some wxth sad faces as 1f stern parents had compelled them to climb those steps others had that determ1ned look whlch spelled responsxbxhty It vxas plam to see that thls last group was go1ng mto the fight to Wm They were xntent upon gett1ng the most out of those four long years ahead As the supermtendent stud1ed each g1rl and boy he found a very prom1s1ng group of Freshmen Yes there would be students teachers musxc1ans athletes and well a group worthy of accompllshlng much Thus wrth a look of satxsfactlon he took up h1s usual dutles leavmg the characters md mmds of these Fresh men to be molded wxth the te lchers help These freshles readxly lned up to thexr name but dunng the first year they presented one play Mother Says Her Say whlch they now look back upon wlth amusement Wrth Mr Lambert as thexr advxsor Harold Fowler as presldent jane Shderan as v1ce pres1dent and Ralph DdV1S as secretary and treas urer they came through that bewxlderlng year successfully The fall of 36 found a more confident group for the first year was conquered By th1s t1me they had become a part of the school Entermg 1nto sports plays etc they passed through the year wlth the a1d of Mxss Greene as advlsor Chester Koonts pres1dent Bob Blatt v1ce pres1dent Eleanor Conkle secretary and Ruth Pohng treasurer jumor Semor receptlon W1th M1ss Greenes and the Jumor Play Through the Keyhole was g1ven w1th the followmg cast Marjorxe Ervxn James Ba1ley E11 abeth Cannon Jay Fealty Marle B1rk1mer jack Hutchl son Ralph Dans and Mlry Mooney In thls year four of our Jumors took leadmg parts ln the operetta jane Sheeran Harold Fowler Ralph Dav1s and jay Fealty The Jumors IH thexr L1ttle Boy and C1rl Outfits left a last1ng 1mpress1on on thelr school The class offxcers were pres1dent Harold Fowler VICC pres1dent Jay T Fealty secretary Ruth Polmg treasurer Chester Koonts Then the class came down the last stretch of the way the Semor year Durmg the last two years thms class took an act1ve part m athletlcs Lookmg forward to graduatxon they traveled through thxs last year enjoymg lt to the utmost However as graduatlon t1me drew nearer w1th all the1r spare moments being used xn worklng on the annual gettmg p1ctures and lnvltrtxons preparmg for the Semor Class play and takmg part m thexr last school actxvmes they looked back on the1r four years whxch had passed thought fully recallmg the1r accomplxshments When the Semor Class of Q9 marched forth from N L H S a smlle and a look of satlsfactlon rested on the super1ntendents face as he saw them start off lnto the world toward success When they found thexr success he hoped that they would look back on thexr hxgh school days w1th pleasant memorxcs and recollec txons Page Seventeen fl P f ' 1 g x I ' I' r . . . . . . . . .
