At the beginning of the school year, the officers representing each class got together and formed a recreational com- mittee, With the help of this committee, a carefully planned schedule was made so that each class, alternating weekly, would have charge of the different ac- tivities. These activities were - dancing, basketball, ping-pong, shuffle board, box-hockey, baseball and dart ball. Needless to say, everyone acclaimed the program a worthwhile contribution to the students' morale. cf EIA CM The Future Farmers of America consists of eighteen members: eleven freshmen, three sophomores, three juniors, and one senior. Our advisor is Mr. Frank Kelley. Each of these eighteen members has a project such as production projects, improvement proj- ects, crop products, and supplementary projects. The production projects we have this year are swine, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep and poul- try. We sold seed corn during the year. This has helped boost our treasury considerably. Our activities included a pest hunt, a field trip the to see a professional basketball game, and buying of an electric dehorner. The pest hunt was and organized of two teams: the Shinboners the Ciickers , The Shinboners won by a small margin. Most of all this year, we enjoyed the basketball 'game we saw in Lima, the Globetrot- ters defeating the Boston Whirlwinds. The editor, Juli Hoge, wrote an edi- torial each time, besides having to ar- range the articles. The activities of the school year were given special attention by Roberta Schrolucke and Karen Lam- mers, Eileen Clausing and Annely Wier- wille compiled and typed the elementary news, while Donna Eschmeyer typed the Junior High news. The sports section was handled with all the skill possessed by Ruth Warner. Ella Mae Kuck, the fea- ture writer had the iob of dreaming up and writing the features. Of course no newspaper is complete without a Smile Awhile section. The credit for those smiles goes to Anne Jones. Joyce Schroer and Gene Bubp did all the drawing and found all the different ideas for the covers. ,OA ofogralady This year, we started a new kind of extra- curricular club - the photography club. This club is composed of those in the upper six grades who want to know more about cameras, and those who want to learn how to take and develop pictures correctly. The club has as its advisors, Mr. John Musser and Mr. Owen Hoover. Gene Bubp, the club president, helped very much through his knowledge of photography and art. During the course of this past year, many pictures were taken, some of them good, and some of them bad. Many of the pictures in this Memoir were taken and developed by the senior members of the photography club. Because this was the first year for the photo- graphy club, there are many things to be learned yet, and we hope that in the future, this club will continue to be as successful as it was this past year.
