'- X ' F ' ' V xi' '-f'.32fiflli . 1 .WH THE CARNIVAL On November 4, the PTA. sponsored a school Car- ' nival which brought out an enormous crowd of Parents and friends came to see the children in their it Fm W N ' E room shows and also to see the upper six grades pre- Q' ' ' ' t , -- f ,ls sent the Midwestern l-layride on the stage in the it ' l V ' l auditorium. ll -f .LC . I A delicious menu was served all evening in the cafeteria. i K. The fishpond was again the main attraction for the ' A ' kiddies. Contests of all sorts and cake walks were ' 1 patronized by all. P This Carnival has truly been a success. THANKSGIVING PROGRAM On November 23, the seventh and eighth grade put on the Thanksgiving program, under the direction of a faculty committee: Mrs. Fogt, Mr. Kelley, and Mr. Hoover. ...W ..,,..g T .-- .,...,,..,....,........... E F The Junior Band opened the program with several religious numbers, followed by the group giving Scripture in the form of responsive reading, led by ' Paula Bubp. Rev. Wynd gave prayer and the audience ,,, , Qs A it A -, , sang an appropriate hymn. Members of both classes ' A 'jf ' , ,L ' , Q then presented two short skits, The Secret of Giving ' 2- ' V. 1 q Thanks, and The First Thanksgiving. To concludeg ' 'fx Q' K iilisfa- tt .': ' the two grades recited Psalm TOO and led the group 'fy 3. Q ',,t fn vi' ' in singing We Gather Together. Patty Hinze then - A ,JPL L l dismissed the audience with a good wish for Thanks- ' giving, and thus began our Thanksgiving vacation. On February 22, a program was presented by the 5 fourth, fifth, and sixth grades which the student body, F faculty, and parents enioyed. The fourth grade is 1. proud to say that they wrote their own play, and J everyone had a part in it. They sang songs in honor of famous people born in February. The fifth grade 7 gave a two-act play of the unforgettable character . Davy Crockett, portraying his early and later life. tg Put Your Little Foot and Captain Jens, were the Leadoff numbers, presented by the sixth grade, Also, li two comic dialogues, The Sewing Society and Tell- ing the Truth, were given.
