' iQ?'f-155' s ' '51 t lk it an 2' On May 13, 1955, the seniors of '55 were honored with the first Hawaiian prom given in NK's history! The iuniors chose Aloha lsle as their theme which was carried out very well in a green, red, and brown atmosphere. In the center of the floor was a small gold fish pond, surrounded by a beautiful Hawaiian gar- den. At the front of the stage was the band stand, occupied by the Rhapsodiers, Gliders were placed around the auditorium under an awning of crepe paper, and in the corner of the gym was the snack bar, from which delicious punch and cookies were served all evening. The iuniors' mothers served a very inviting dinner preceding the dance. The Presidents' welcome and re- sponse, and the Superintendent's remarks were the beginning highlites. The program was very informal. The usual prophecy and gifts were presented. Annely and Donna opened and closed the program with appropriate Hawaiian medleys, and, unexpectedly, several members of the audience offered their talents. The remainder of the evening was devoted to dancing. We all wish to thank Mrs. Newell who was in charge of the prom. About one week before Christmas December 17, 1955, the Junior Class sponsored a Christmas party under the Wiigfzgfoe direction of their class advisor, Mr. Hoover. Q ss-NW The decorations and the program centered around their theme, Mistletoe Ball.
