MEMOIR CLASS PROPHECY On Thursday evening, the year of 1978, I was sitting in my television suite wondering what became of my former classmates. A little bit dejected, I decided to turn to video for relaxation and happiness. So I turned on my famous M.B. television set, model 1978 which was my own original design and for which I had just received my patent rights. Imagine my surprise, when the picture on channel 12 F cleared, I saw JOANN KUCK leaving Paris, France. She has been teaching drama in the University of Paris for the past three years. She seemed to be very tfred. Maybe her pupils acted up for her like we did when we were in school. I began to wonder if I could find other classmates on television. I turned the dial to channel I0 A and gazed upon ELTON STIENECKER, now superintendent of the Giraffe Training Company of Africa. Elton appears to be well over six feet, it must be the influence of the giraffes. As I turned to channel 8 US. the call letters of New York City appeared. DON LIST, better known fts Monsieur List, was designing dresses for the New York socialites. Today he is demonstrating his unusual techniques to a world wide video audience. On channel 9 US I see ROGER BAMBAUER, a famous lawyer, advertising his business. The only cases he will take are those of millionaire ladies who are in distress. Every case he tries becomes part of the pin-up section of his law office on Wall Street. As I further try to determine the scope of my television set, I catch LEONARD ELSHOFF, discussing a stupendous blue print with MARY KIEFER. Leonard hit the nail on the head when he began in large scale contracting. He is now guiding the workmen as they construct a twenty room mansion for Mary. She is known the world over for her famous Kief-On Cosmetics. Channel 2 US has traveled to the outskirts of Los Angeles to picture a large billboard. The main attraction is ANN FLEDDERJOHN. She is making her third appearance at the Metropolitan Opera House. She is considered one of the world's best tenors. I now see the call letters of Miami, Florida. Oh yes, on channel 4 US, BILL HENKENER is just being interviewed on a sports program. He is coach of the famous New Knoxville Space Cadets, and his team is said to be really out of this world. On channel 6 H in Hawaii, I see the opening of a large airport. I.ESTER SETTLAGE owns the air- port and from the number of planes present, it looks like it will be a great success. Turning back to the good old United States I dialed channel 5 US in Hollywood, California. They are demonstrating how motion pictures are made. The leading character is LEE DEERHAKE, working on his latest picture, The Trumpet Blues . Lee is noted in his pictures for his great trumpet playing. Glancing at another portion of the screen I see ROGER DEERHAKE, who has just arrived from Alaska for a vacation with his cousin Lee. Roger owns a large chain of department stores in the forty-ninth state of the union. The next glimpse of a classmate is SHIRLEY KUCK on channel l7 US, New Orleans. She is ready to make her forty-eighth flight as an airline hostess. This one will be to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Shirley cer- tainly gets around in the world. As I change to channel ll US, I see RUBY LUTTERBECK as head nurse and owner of the Lutterbeclc clinic iformerly known as the Mayo Clinic? . Turning to channel 3 US, I return to the great Buckeye State. In the distance I see an enormous number of black and white SDOIS. As the picture clears they turn out to be Holstein cows. It is the largest herd of cows in the world owned by DAVID ARNETT. I almost forgot abo'ft HOWARD SMITH, but then again how could I. On channel 17 US, which is Madison, Wisconsin, I sec the front of his establishment reading, The World Daily Chronicle . Being editor of the Memoir certainly put Howard on the road to success. JAMES NIEMEYER is just stepping into the newspaper of Howard. James is making daily full page ads., advertising a new kind of wool. Wool of any color depending upon the brand of feed fed his sheep. He hopes to have color-fast plaids and stripes in a few years. Oh no! not this. RALPH SCHROLUCKE has just walked on the screen on channel ll E. He is making a tour of England and has become the Bob I-Iope of yesteryear with his jokes. Ralph was just re- cently voted the most beloved comedian of the year. It is baseball time and the season has just been open for a month. JOHN SCHROER is manager of the Cincinnati Reds which is a member of the Western World League. The Reds are on channel 16 I, playing against India. John's team is currently in first place. Once more I chan e channels, and whom should I see on channel 5 US in Chicago but GRETA HOLE. Greta is superintendent of the famous Chicago School of Medical Technicians. She is finding jobs for thou- sands of girls who have graduated from her school. I have seen all my classmates except my namesake, MARY SCHROLUCKE. I wonder what has hap- pened to her. I will try channel 23 G. There she is taking shorthand notes of the world wide conference of rulers held in Berlin, Germany. She can now take shorthand in seven languages. I Now I, MARY BUDDEMEYER, being almost overcome by the pictures of my successful classmates, leisurely lean back in my easy chair, close my eyes, and wonder, can all the things I just saw be true?
