i 195 NOXVILLE MEMOIR CLASS HI TORY We, the Senior Class of 1951 entered New Knoxville High School as fresh- men on September 2nd, 1947. This class consisted of twenty-two members, twelve boys and ten girls. Our class was well represented in sports. Six of the boys were out for both baseball and basketball. In the other activities we had thirteen pupils in the chorus and five members in the band. The two flag bearers were also from our class. In our freshman year we lost several members, Morris Leffel moved to Wapakoneta and Clyde McCune found a job somewhere else. Susan Lee joined our class entering New Knoxville from Beaverdam. We came back to school in the fall of 1948 as sophomores, with a class of twenty members, ten boys and ten girls. We had five members in the band and thirteen in the chorus. Five of the ten boys played basketball and five came out for baseball. In our sophomore year we lost two members, Susan Lee moved to Spencerville and Paul Zwiebel found a job and left school. In our junior year our class still had twenty members, however there were nine boys and eleven girls. jacqualin Hole moved in from Wapakoneta, and Kay Bilger came from Versailles. We had five members in the band, and eleven in the chorus. One of our girls became a cheerleader. We received our class rings of which we were all very proud. We also presented the junior Class Play, We Shook the Family Tree,', which was a great success. We sponsored the junior-Senior Reception, which was one of the outstanding events of the year. In the fall of 1950 we entered school as sophisticated seniors. W'e were about as well represented in basketball and baseball as in the previous years. Two class members were cheerleaders this year. W'e had six members in the chorus and five members in the band. Eunice Stienecker found a job elsewhere and Kay Bilger re-entered her class in Versailles. We presented our Senior Class Play, It's a Great Life, which was a great success. We will long remember and cherish the week of May 15, 1951 as the beginning and end of our graduation. 18
