Before Easter vacation the pa- per supply was running out. To meet this crisis, the faculty chal- lenged the student body to a bas- ketball game. With the challenge accepted, teams were chosen to represent each class. Students ea- gerly paid their money to see the exciting game. Field Day Was A Big Success Facial expression of spectators showed the excitement on the field. Ruth Howard shows determination as a member of her relay team A field day was sponsored by the Beta Club which allowed stu- dents to compete in track and field events. The excitement was intense. Those who did not take part in the events were just as en- thusiastic as those who were fighting for the ribbons which were awarded as prizes. The Physical Education Department assisted the Beta Club by having its students engage in serious events. Juniors and Seniors also competed against each other in different events. The just-for-fun events were enjoyed by everyone. Carson Thompsonsall alone at the finish. 5 George Jones rounds the corner well ahead of his competitors. The girls got in on the action with emotion filled races. 14
