Homecoming Brings Tears Of Excitement And Tears Cf Defeat l Shock, happiness, and tears as Ruth realizes she is the Homecoming Queen l The majorcttes and cheerleaders do a dance routine to the music of the marching band. First place ninth grade-TROJANS BAND THE BULL Q, 'rx' ws. . 4' 1 Second place eleventh grade-TROJANS HAVE A GOLDEN VICTORY Everyone was sure it would rain for Homecoming since it had been wet two years in a row. However, it turned out to he a gorgeous night. At halftime the hand pre- formed and the colorful floats were presented with their lovely representatives. Excitement rose for the long awaited mo- ment to hear the name of the 1973-74 Home- coming Queen. Everyone was in smiles ex- cept Ruth Christian who was in tears. Mr. Brown crowned Ruth while past Queen Sha- ron O'Brien looked on. The game went on but tears of defeat came. New Kent lost their first game of the season lay the score 14 to 12. The VIP'S lefted everyones spirits at the dance after the game. 'I DQ!! ll Third place twelth grade-HANG 'EM HIGH 9

The second annual yearbook dance Was given this year by the yearbook staff after the Middle- sex game to distribute the 1973 Iliad. Everyone was happy and excited at the arrival of the books. The Winning of the game also helped to heighten the atmo- sphere. Music was supplied by the VIP's and everyone enjoyed danc- ing and generally having them- selves a good time. The yearbook staff prepares for the dance to begin. 8
