Class Prophecy, a speech delivered at Commencement, June 6, 1949 The consideration of future events is always an interesting subject. To think about the career possibilities of my fellow classmen is still more interesting be¬ cause it involves each one of us personally. A. C. Frame, having more interest in machinery than in skirts, will have himself surrounded with tractors, combines, cattle and grain, on the most modern farm in New Kent County. Andrew, well all that brass and braid he hopes to wear at our class reunion in 1965, Oh well, Colonel, how are you? Cornelia, after making the highest record in the history of Smithdeal-Massey Business College, took over as head instructor of typing and shorthand at the same institution. Jeanne, after a career in the Wacs, would like to have a cozy little home and family, best wishes, Jeanne, to all seven of you. Eleanor, who has been so unselfish and so helpful to all in high school, would like to have her own Orthopedic Hospital--with this motto over the door “Free Hospitalization to all needy people.” Robert, a Domestic Relations lawyer promises to give his classmates free legal service if any should find the road of matrimony too burdensome. June, will be located in the offices of the C. and P. Telephone Company as chief typist. Nan, who changes her mind frequently on love matters as well as vocational matters, says she will let the world know when she makes up his mind. Anne, just imagine itl Will spend 4 years at Baylor University and then who do you thinkKay Kyser chose as his chief vocalist--one guess. Elsie, all that acting she has been doing in our school plays really made up her mind for her and well, she became head of the dramatics department for the College of William and Mary.
