UJ- V I if f ul' 9' NW fwfygx I BAND QP The Ken High Band has had a very busy year Under the competent Mic tion of Mr John Stephens and his assistant Mr Joseph Farlnelli the Band and Majorettes spent their annual week at camp in Salisbury Pennsylvania prepar ing for the football season While there they paraded at the County Fair IU Myersdale They entered a competltion at Kennywood Park They were invited to Forbes Field to play at a Steeler game and to the openmg game of the Pirates in the Spring of 53 They have also taken part in numerous high school assemblies and programs including Baccalaureate and Commencement in the band festivals along with other neighboring high school bands at the Pitt Field House to support the basketball team in WPIAL competition Probably the outstanding honor has come to the Band this year in being rated one of the best high school musical organizations in the United States. Our Band is one of 317 chosen from 15000 bands orchestras and choruses to be included in First Chair of America the Whos Who of high school musi- cians.
