The scrap drives are history, the hells mark only the end of classes, and, most important, our men are returning. They have traded K rations for P. G. books and have renewed old friend- ships. Ir is to them, our returned veterans, and especially to the memory of those who will never return, that this book is dedicated, for it is only through them and ten million like them that we can have a Taleoken and a Ken-I-li. Perhaps this book will convey a little of the thanks in our hearts. No book could express it all. l 4

Victory has been achieved and we of the class of 1946, unlike the six classes before us, are gradu- ating into a worlcl at peace. The six war years have left many pic- tures in our minds. We remember the air-raicl clrills, the scrap col- lections, the war stamp drives. More vividly we remembr our classmates and our friends leaving for the services. The empty chairs and the scarcity of boys are still fresh in our memory, but today victory has altered the scene.
