OT course These subiecTs are noT discussed in LaTin, buT many common English words would have a Tamiliar sound. l-le mighT be sur- prised To Tind girls parTicipaTing, or To discover ThaT The direcTors oT These acTiviTies were Miss l-lawk and Miss Rorabaugh, Two women members oT The TaculTy. lT is probable, however, ThaT having aTTend- ed one meeTing, he would Tind The conTines oT obscuriTy raTher dull and be loaThe To reTurn To his niche on The shelT. sTudied noT only The preparaTion oT Tood, buT also iTs consTiTuenTs. Be- sides meeTing regularly Twice a monTh, once Tor business and once Tor pleasure, They made delicious candy Tor ChrisTmas and sponsored a successTul Tea dance, wiTh The popular cake walk as a TeaTure. The qualiTicaTions Tor membership are noT binding and no dues are required. Any sTudenT oT French, pasT or presenT, may belong. MeeTings are held aTTer school on The second Wednesday oT each monTh. Every year new members sTarT corre- spondence wiTh boys and girls oT France Through HOW? ECONOMICS TwenTy-six Treshman and sophomore girls work and play To- geTher in This Club. They are girls whose course include sewing and who are genuinely inTeresTed in This old-Tashioned arT. Regular 7 meeTings are held each monTh. AT These meeTings plans are made and daTes selecTed Tor The club's social aTTairs. Some- Times some ingenious scheme such as a collar-making con- TesT adds inTeresT. Lilce many oT The clubs in Ken l-li, The Home Economics girls spon- sored a Tea dance, buT, unlilce any oTher club, They oTTered Tor sale aTTracTive hand-made TelT novelTies which sold like hoT cakes. The ouTsTanding evenT oT The year was doubT- less The Tea and spring Tashion show. Under The guidance oT T761 The medium oT The club. Usually, The social season is sTarTed wiTh a Tea dance, which, This year, was very successTul Tinancially. The annual sale oT home- made candy is exceedingly popular among The sTu- denTs and Teachers, iudging Trom The many, many orders received. UndoubTedly The mosT popular oT all is The gay picnic held in May aT The Memorial Parlc. IT usually rains, buT The weaTher never damp- ens The spiriT. A dinner, prepared in Miss PaTTer- son's l4iTcher, is The high spoT in an evening oT Tun. Miss Lyon, The girls made The cloThes in class.
