SHAKESPEARE School Committee Mr. Winston Best (Secretary) Mrs. Theodore Smith Mr. Carl Mewborn (Chairman) Mr. Russell G. Spence Mr. Roland Webber (not pictured) The School Committee, although it is not seen by the students in everyday school life, is the guiding force by which our school functions. It has, at all times, the wel- fare of the school and student body in mind. Committee members give of their time unselfishly to serve the school in order that the needs of students may be met. The service they render helps to make our school one of which we can be proud. 6 PRINCIPAL Mr. J. S. King SECRETARY Mrs. Wallace Godwin MR. HOWARD ANDREWS B.S. Degree, Citadel. Science, P.E., Soc. I ' ll slash my wrists . . . And what’s wrong with a balanced layout? . . . , you put those pictures back! Whom do you think you ' re stealing from? . . . How ' n the world are you going to make that horizontal picture fit in that vertical space? . . . Not another telegram to the publisher! , . . And how did you get the page numbers mixed up. Dear? I As these typical remarks filled the tiny publica- tions room, the staff scrabled desperately against time to produce the 1963 Nuhosca, New Hope ' s biggest and best annual. Overcoming many setbacks, the Nuhosca staff managed to add many new features to the annual. The staff planned and executed more artistic photog- raphy and developed a broader coverage of school activities. Nervous breakdowns and mental collapses followed the last shipment of the annual. 60 The typing staff plays a big part in our annual. The typing staff types all work that goes to the publisher.
