The Jr. Civitan Club completed a most active year under the supervision of Ms. lane Moon. The club officers were as follows: Jane Mann, president: Terolyn McDonald and Robert Collier, vice-presidentg Pam Williams, secretary: Rodney Gipson, treasurerg Cindy Wright, sergeant-at-arms: and Deborah Beard, chaplain. Jane Mann was appointed the district office ser- geant-at-arms. Several of the projects undertaken by the club were sponsoring the annual blood drive, donating food to a needy family at Thanksgiving, sponsoring the annual Miss Middle School pageant, and hosting a pancake supper. Completing its second year as an active club, SAFE, the Student Action for Education, was spon- sored by Mrs. lane Moon. The goal of this club was to promote better student-teacher relationships, and to explore careers. Early in the year, Dale Roberson, a representative of the National Education Association, spoke to the members on the topic of Student Rights and Respon- sibilities. ' ' The club also hosted a district meeting and attended the annual state SAFE meeting in Mont- gomery. The members showed their appreciation to the teachers by presenting them with homemade cookies at Christmas time, giving them decorated nut cups filled with Valentine candy, and naming a week in their honor. Officers were Liz Rollings, who was named district Miss SAFE, president: Sherry Anderson, vice-presi- dentq Faye Jones, secretary-treasurer, and Marla Baldwin, reporter. SAFE Completes
