The Student Council completed a successful and active year. At the first of the school year a new constitution was written by a committee appointed by adviser Ms. June Buckelew. During March a school spirit competition was held. The Council presented two trash barrels to each class on which the students painted pictures depicting school spirit. Also, a suggestion box was placed in the hall in which students dropped their complaints and ideas for improvements. David Layne, president, and Chuck Montgomery, vice-president, attended a High School Leadership Honor Conference, where they were told that the Council should be responsible to the needs of all stu- dents, not just to those of power groups. Other officers were Shelia Aday, secretary: Shir- ley Spivey, treasurer: Teri Certain, parliamenta- riang and Lynn Rollings, reporter. af Qludenl Council Wriies .3
