Rubg and Jeff Represent New Hope During the week of June 6-12, 1976, Ruby Mann represented New Hope at the Annual Girls' State Convention held at Huntingdon College in Montgomery. Upon arrival Ruby, along with other girls from all over Alabama, was assigned to a city and to a political party. The girls studied state, county and city government. They held Senate and House of Representative sessions . During her stay. Ruby was elected City Party Chairman and appointed Governor's Executive Assistant. In addition, she attended a tea at the Gover- nor's mansion. ,g.2frpp.Sf'5i'-es During the week of June 6-12, 1976, Jef1 Butler represented New Hope at the Annual Alabama Boys' State Convention held at Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. Jeff , along with seniors from every higl school in the state, took part in an active pro- gram of athletics and state government. During his stay at Troy, Jeff served as City Councilman and member of the House oi Representatives. He was also captain of hi: city's undefeated volleyball team. Despite the busy schedule of the convention, Jeff thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned much about state and city government.

P Debbie Receives Bei-lg Crocker Award Debbie Sublett was named New Hope High Schoo1's 1976-1977 Betty Crocker Family Leader of Tomorrow. Debbie won the honor by competing with other seniors in the .written and aptitude examination. She received a spe- cially designed award from General Mills, Inc. , sponsor of the annual educational schol- arship program .
