Mr. Roberson instructed students in Algebra I and Il and geometry. Coach Paseur taught business math and law and P.E. Saddler and Ross Insiruci Science ' ...amd ' - . 1 -f Mrs. Desser Ross Mrs. Margo Saddler In the high school Science Department, Mrs. Margo Saddler taught biology, physiology, and physics. Mrs. Desser Ross taught general science as well as American history. Mrs. Sadd1er's science students devoted much time and effort in preparing science projects, which were entered in the Science Fair held at New Hope High School. Mrs. Ross' science students participated in the construction of physical science projects.

Q Mrs. Mildred Brawley Mrs. Rosa Kent .1 I v Mrs. Jane Moon f Mrs. Mayme Harp The Language Arts students, after mastering their grammar, gained experience in creative writing, form composition, and literary interpretation. Ninth and tenth graders concentrated on improving their grammar skills, while Juniors and Seniors worked American and English literature. Mrs. Kent's Spanish students heard informal speeches on Spanish cultures , engaged in conversational Spanisl and enjoyed the annual lunch at El Palacio . Mrs. Brawley's journalism class learned the basic principles and rules for all type of writing. In addition completing a regular classroom curriculum , the students produced the school newspaper and yearbook. All the Language classes used filmstrips, recordings, and the library in collecting the material necessary f their studies. Teaching in the department this year were Mrs. Harp, Mrs. Kent, Mrs. Moon, and Mrs. Brawley.

Siudenis Learn Vocaiional Skills Students who planned to pursue a vocational career were instructed by Mrs. Mildred Ealy, Mrs. Edna Hamer, and Mr. Thomas Summerville. Mrs. Ealy, head of the Business Department, taught personal typing and preparatory business and office education. Several career areas covered were general clerical, stenographic, and bookkeeping. Also, Mrs. Hamer instructed the home economics students in such basics as personal and human devel- opment, foods and nutrition, housing, decoration, clothing construction, and child development. The students heard several speakers and participated in worthy projects. In addition, Mr. Summerville taught students the basic techniques in agribusiness.
